In automotive suspension, a control arm, also known as an A-arm, is a hinged suspension link between the chassis and the suspension upright or hub that carries the wheel. A control arm's inboard (chassis) end is attached by a single pivot, usually a rubber bushing. They are equipped with bushings and ball joints that allow the wheel hub to move up and down and side to side.
