Things you'll need: 1. Trim panel removal tool, socket wrench, or screwdriver (depending on the fasteners used in the assembly) 2. Tail light assembly that matches your vehicle's specs
Installation: Step 1. Remove the old tail light. First thing you have to do is undo the mounting screws on the outside, if there?ˉs any. You?ˉll have to open the trunk or any rear door or opening on the vehicle to access the back of the tail light. The wiring harness must be disengaged from the assembly through its back. Once the wiring harness is out, you can now undo the mounting screws or nuts, whatever fastener is used. With no more screws or nuts holding it in place, you can push out the assembly from behind.
Step 2. Check if the tail light assembly you just removed is the same as the new one. See if they have the same components, design, and fasteners to ensure proper fitting.
Step 3. Fix the new assembly into the tail light pocket. Once it?ˉs fitted into place, secure it with the screws or nuts. Tighten them properly. You can now plug in the wiring harness that you removed earlier.
Step 4. Test the new assembly. Switch on the tail lights to see if they work. If not, then some adjustments should be done to the newly installed tail light kit.
Step 5. Put back any cover, trim, or component that was removed to access the tail light assembly.
Inspection of Tail Lights Brake lights are there to warn other drivers that you're slowing down. If they fail, following vehicles can charge up to your rear bumper, scaring everyone in both cars or, worse, actually rear-end you. Turn signals warn other drivers that you're about to execute a maneuver that could be potentially hazardous, so they can allow you room or pay extra attention. Profession inspections of your vehicle and tail lights increase your visibility at night, again reducing the risk of collisions.
Safety Aspect of Tail Lights Tail lights are a safety aspect of the vehicle. They show the rear edge of the vehicle to allow other drivers to appropriately gauge the size and shape of the car. In addition, they allow other vehicles to see the car in bad weather such as rain or snow. If a tail light has gone out, replace it right away. You can get pulled over for having a tail light that does not work, so it is important to purchase quality tail lights.
How Tail Lights Work Tail lights work on a relay, which means they turn on when the head lights are turned on. Tail lights are wired to the same switch that turns on the head lights, making them function easily. If you have automatic lights, the tail lights will turn on when your vehicle is on. If you use a switch to turn your vehicle's lights on, the tail lights will illuminate once your head lights are on. In addition, the tail lights are wired right to the battery.
